San Francisco-Based Latin Band CABANIJAZZ PROJECT is led by GRAMMY® Award-Winning Composer and Conga Player, Javier Cabanillas. Not too long ago, Cabanillas was performing in the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, and recently walked the red carpet in Los Angeles and took home a GRAMMY® Win for his involvement with the Pacific Mambo Orchestra sending shockwaves across the globe by winning over megastars Marc Anthony and Carlos Vives who were among the artists nominated in the same category for the Best Latin Tropical Album of the Year. After that triumph win, Cabanillas now a Bay Area resident, concentrated on writing and arranging for his Latin band by fusing the rich Jazz harmonies and fusing them with Afro-Caribbean dance rhythms, thus creating their own unique sonic sounds. This seven-piece band performs original music and highlights the very talented musicians who collectively have played through a vast array of genres from funk to pop, and folkloric genres without losing their identity and each pushing forward their own unique voice. Javier Cabanillas's compositions has received a 4-Star rating in DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE, and the music of Cabanijazz Project has been featured in NPR, PBS, United Airlines, and has been performing at the top Jazz & Salsa Festival and is a fan-favorite in the San Francisco Bay Area with their audiences increasing at each show.
Cabanijazz Project currently has three studio produced albums in three consecutive years beginning in 2018, and is currently recording their fourth in 2022.
